Today Is The Day #406
"This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24 (ESV)
You’ve probably read and recited this verse multiple times. Two weeks ago, when I read it something happened. I said, “Today is the day,” in prayer, and I felt a change in my attitude, confidence, actions, gratitude, and spirit.
You see, I had spent many years asking God to change me, but today is the day I change for Him. I wasn’t declaring that God would answer my prayers, remove my struggles, or send me money. I realized that today is the day I can draw closer to Him, see my situation differently, and believe that He is walking with me.
I want this for you too, so I’ve included a few examples of mine. Feel free to use any of them, and I encourage you to practice this daily.
Today is the day I stop worrying about tomorrow.
Today is the day I’m content and thankful.
Today is the day I shut the door and talk to God.
Today is the day I confess what I’m hiding.
Today is the day I accept the forgiveness Jesus offered me.
Today is the day I trust that He hears me and will answer me.
Today is the day I tackle the project I’ve been putting off
Today is the day I take a risk, even when I don’t know the outcome.
Today is the day I’m grateful for what I have, instead of complaining about what I don't.
Today is the day I forgive someone without them knowing.
Today is the day I lay what I’m carrying at the cross.
Today is the day I know that He walks ahead of me, behind me, and with me.
Today is the day I’ll trust Him, even when I don't understand.
Today is the day I surrender to His will and quit fighting Him for mine.
Today is the day I walk as the man God created me to be.
Today is the day I encourage someone.
Today is the day I breathe, rest, and rejoice, not rush.
Today is the day I say yes to Jesus Christ.
Today is the day I live my legacy.
God never promised that today would be easy. But He has given us today, and we can choose how we respond. I've discovered that praying "Today is the day" encourages me to take action, surrender what I cannot control, and walk more confidently with Him. Whatever this day holds for you, live it like Today Is The Day!
