Filled With Heavenly Contents #327

Did you know that you were created in God’s image and are to be filled with Heavenly content? So, doesn’t it make sense that we act like He is a part of us because He is? He’s even given us a real-life example in our children. They are younger versions of us, made in our image, meant to represent us, and guided by what we’ve taught them. The parental lens that we share with God never stops working on us and for us.

Now, I want you to imagine a clean bowl of water, and in your hand, you hold a bottle of food coloring. How many drops would it take to change the color of the water? Would it be 1, 10, or 100 drops?

I believe that the water in the bowl represents who we are at our core. It’s our character, faith, spirit, wisdom, and more. Everyone was born with clean water that was meant to remain clean, but the food coloring of life, along with our choices, have muddied it. The good news, we still hold the power to control the amount of food coloring allowed into our bowl.

I’m also not saying that you should give up everything to live off-grid in a monastery. All I am asking is that you remove the bottle of food coloring from your hand before it hits the water because it’s stopping you from becoming your best version.

We can start cleaning or filtering the water in our bowl in a few easy steps. First, identify your food coloring. Ask yourself, what are some things in your life that are discoloring your water, and how many drops are you allowing to enter it? You probably know, but you mask it so others can’t see your cloudy water. Second, put down the bottle of food coloring and resist grabbing it again. Whether it’s excessive alcohol, lying, lust, denying God, or worse, you know something is making the water of your bowl murky.

Third, go into a room, shut the door, and ask God to reveal the food coloring in your life that’s not good for you. You’ll begin to notice His voice by the change in your heart to protect your water and what you need to let go of. There’s cleaner water on the horizon waiting for you.

Fourth, admit that your water is dirty and accept His forgiveness for it. Bear all your food colorings to him. Then begin cleaning your water by adding Heavenly contents instead of food coloring. For instance, if you do something that doesn’t sit right, then open your Bible and read a random passage, reread a devotional, or say a simple prayer. This acknowledges your need for His help. Over time, you will put less food coloring into your bowl, and you’ll start to see the bottom again because the water is cleaner. You’re meant for cleaner water.

Lastly, start sharing your clean water with others. People want/need to see your transformation. They want to hear your story because it gives them hope that their lives can be restored with faith, belief, and action, too. I believe your best legacy is meant to be shared with others and by helping them clean their water. A legacy full of clean water is remembered for generations; it’s time to get rid of the food coloring.
