When you hear the word run, what comes to your mind? For some, it could mean, “I have to run to the store.” Or, “I have errands to run.” For others, the word 'run' means either running away from something, running to a finish line, or running with someone. Conversely, the word run does not mean standing still or staying back. This lone word should incite action of some kind.
Today’s Friday Focus is going to break down the word run using the acronym R.U.N., because the time is now for you to start running towards your purpose, your faith, and your legacy.
For some reason, acronyms stick with me. One day, out of the blue, I wrote down one word in my planner: the word run. Little did I know at the time that God was using 1 Corinthians 9:25 and Hebrews 12:1 to put a message on my heart that needed to be shared. So I want to give you three R.U.N. acronyms that hopefully motivate you to take action. But ultimately, I encourage you to find your own acronym that inspires you as well.
It’s safe to say that you’ve felt stuck before, maybe even now. You didn’t know which way to go. You were waiting for the perfect time or a clear sign to move. Well, I hate to tell you that there is no perfect time except the present for you to be on the move. I believe that there’s something that’s stirring in your heart wanting to come out for some time. That’s the Holy Spirit asking you to Rise Up Now and shake off the dust of hesitation from your sandals and step towards living your purpose.
If and when you Rise Up Now, you’ll stop living in the excuses that have been holding you back and start moving forward. God has a plan, and He’s calling you to move even when the path seems difficult. Right now, there are people around you waiting on the impact, guidance, and love that only you can provide. It’s time to Rise Up Now before it’s too late.
Speaking of the people around you, you can never build the legacy you desire if you’re divided from those who matter most. I get it, there may be broken relationships and difficult people in your life, but sometimes the best bridges are Rebuiltwhen you Uplift others Now.
Start by reaching out to the person you’ve been avoiding and repair what’s been broken by having a conversation filled with grace so you can reignite the power of that relationship. Realize that the bonds of a strong legacy are not built with broken cords; they’re forged when you Rebuild and UpliftNow.
Lastly, Rely Upon the Name of Jesus on your journey. Everyone knows that the pace of this life seems fast at times, causing us to feel empty. But if you truly want to do great things, then you need the strength of His refuge when you feel scared. He’s the light that’s available to you right now that outshines the darkness when the road feels long and treacherous. So, Rely Upon the Name of Jesus and stop running alone.
Remember, Jesus Christ took the nails for you on the cross so you can Rise Up Now with confidence and Rebuild what’s been hurt and Uplift others Now. When you can stop running aimlessly and run with endurance in the race of life that’s been set before you, you’ll live a legacy worth remembering. So R.U.N. Forrest Run.
